Monikielisen, eurooppalaisen flash-fiktio -kirjoituskilpailun aiheena on “maanalainen” (Underground), tekstin pituus on max 100 sanaa. Sama henkilö voi lähettää useampia tekstejä. Voittaja saa palkinnoksi 600€, ja toiseksi-eniten ääniä saanut palkitaan 400€ summalla. Kilpailuun osallistuu 13 kielialuetta ja koulua. Suomea edustaa Jyväskylän yliopisto.

Osallistuminen ja sen muoto

1. Kilpailuun osallistutaan maksimissaan 100 sanan flash-fiktio –tekstillä (otsikkoa ei lasketa).
2. Aiheena on ”ulkopuolella”.
3. Tekstin tulee olla otsikoitu.
4. Tekstin alkuperäinen ja julkaisematon, eikä sitä ole aikaisemmin palkittu missään kansallisessa tai kansainvälisessä kilpailussa.
5. Lähetetyn tekstin tulee olla EACWP lomakkeella kirjoitettu jollakin kilpailuun osallistuvalla kielellä.

Kierrokset

1. Kilpailu koostuu kahdesta kierroksesta: aluksi kielikohtainen kierros ja lopuksi eurooppalainen kierros.
2. Ensimmäisellä kierroksella alkuperäiset tekstit kirjoitetaan jollakin edellä mainituista kilpailuun osallistuvista eurooppalaisista kielistä.
3. Kutakin kieltä edustava instituutio vastaanottaa, lukee sekä valitsee kieltä edustavan finalistin. Hollannin kielen kohdalla on kaksi osallistuvaa instituutiota, kumpikin valitsee oman finalistinsa.
4. Kilpailussa on 13 finalistia toisella kierroksella (yksi instituutiota kohden).
5. Toista, eurooppalaista kierrosta varten finalistien tekstit käännetään englanniksi.
6. Toisella kierroksella kansainvälinen tuomaristo valitsee eurooppalaisen voittajan.

Kilpailun aikataulu

1. Kilpailuun osallistumiskaavake avataan helmikuun 26 (2022) klo 13:00 (CET) ja suljetaan 15.4. klo 13:00 (CET) huhtikuuta (2022). Sitä ennen tai jälkeen jätetyt tekstit hylätään.
2. Ensimmäisen kierroksen tulokset julkaistaan EACWP verkkosivulla toukokuun 30. mennessä.
3. Kilpailun raati laskee yleisöäänet, jotka ovat tulleet EACWP verkkosivulle toukokuun 30 (2022) klo 13:00 (CET) ja kesäkuun 30 (2022) klo 13:00 välisenä aikana.
4. Eurooppalainen voittaja julistetaan kesäkuuta (2022).
5. Eurooppa -finaalin voittaja saa palkinnoksi 600€ käteistä.

Eurooppalaisen FlashFiktio -kirjoituskilpailussa Suomea edustaa Rami Bärmanin teksti. Onnea Suomi-kisan voittajalle. Suomi oli taas kerran yksi aktiivisimmista maista, 103 tekstiä, vain Alankomaat ja Ranska lähetti enemmän tekstejä. Kiitos aktiivisille kirjottajille.

Yleisöäänestys on avoinna 30.6. 2021 asti, suomalaiset eivät voi äänestää Suomen edustajaa, vaan valitsevat jonkun muun hyvä tekstin. Voittaja julkistetaan 15.7. 2021. Tekstit löytyvät täältä.

Rami Bärman: TÄMÄN MAAILMAN ULKOPUOLELLE

Olin kinastellut vuosikaudet professori Kurkelan kanssa siitä, onko tämän maailman ulkopuolella jokin toinen todellisuus. Minun mielestäni on, hänen mielestään ei. Tarvittiin koe. Onnistuin suunnittelemaan platonisen antivirtuaalikypärän. Sen tarkoitus oli kumota kaikille tuttu aivojen luoma virtuaalitodellisuus ja paljastaa mahdollinen platoninen maailma. Kutsuin Kurkelan paikalle todistamaan historiallista ensimmäistä koetta.
Laitoin kypärän päähäni.

Pelkkä musta tyhjyys, kaikkialla. Ja kaiken tuon pimeyden yläpuolella silmä, jättiläisplaneetan kokoinen. Tutkiva, kylmä, halveksiva, pahansuopa, vihamielinen silmä. Se tuijotti minua. Tunsin sen lukevan ajatukseni. Kammottavaa!
Tempaisin kypärän päästäni.
“Olit oikeassa, ei siellä mitään ole”, sanoin. Kurkelan lähdettyä voitonriemuisena tuhosin keksintöni ja sen piirustukset.
Ihmisen ei ole hyvä tietää liikaa.

Rami Bärman: TO BEYOND THIS WORLD

I had argued with Professor Kurkela for years, is there some another reality beyond our universe. I think that there is an another reality and Kurkela thinks that there is not. There was a need for an experiment. I managed to design a platonic anti-virtual helm. It was intended to repeal that virtual reality, which is produced by brains and which is familiar to all of us, and to unveil the possible platonic world. I invite Kurkela to witness the historical first experiment.
I put the helmet on my head.

Plain black darkness, everywhere. And above all darkness: an eye. It was giant planet sized. Exploratory, cold, despised, malevolent, hostile eye. It stared at me. I felt that it was reading my thoughts. Horrible! I wrenched the helm out of my head.

“You were right, there is nothing there”, I said.

I destroyed my invention and all the blueprints after victorious looking Kurkela left.

In partnership with EACWP, we are delighted to bring you six multilingual workshops in Czech, Finnish, Spanish, Norwegian, German and French, featuring prestigious workshop leaders from Aleph-Écriture (France), University of Jyväskylä (Finland), Vienna Poetry School (Vienna), The University of Creative Communication (Prague), Norwegian Institute for Children Books and, Escuela de Escritores (Spain).

Also featured at the conference will be ‘A Journey Around Our Rooms’ – presented in partnership with the University of Kent – an interactive, online space for writers to share the spaces in which they write.

Contributors are invited to describe the room in which they work — which may include the spaces of imagination, memory, and association it opens on to. All forms are welcome, and submission of an accompanying image is encouraged. These texts will be published on a University of Kent-hosted webpage, as the beginning of an ongoing collaborative project.

Amy Sackville, the project lead from the University of Kent, will be running a number of sessions across the conference weekend. Please refer to your delegate pack to see how you can get involved.

Finally, as you may be aware, an Open Mic is a feature of the Friday evening events; this is your chance to share your work with the rest of the conference. It is first-come, first-served and there are limited spaces, so if interested please log into the Open Mic 15 mins prior to the start in order to register your interest (enter into the Chat). The Open Mic host will compile a list of readers from those who have entered their name. Please be aware a strict time limit will be in place on the night and we ask everyone to read for no more than 3 or 4 minutes each (for poets that might be 1 or 2 poems, for prose writers that might be a page or two of prose). We look forward to hearing from you on the night!

This EACWP Premium Virtual Edition for Creative Writing Teachers will comprise three different workshops (26 – 28.1 from 17.00 to 19.00 (CET). As in the regular format of our Teachers Training Course, over these sessions, our EACWP teachers will share their different methodologies, approaches and experiences in the teaching of creative writing by offering a so called “auteur workshop” by performing and explaining their own ars pedagogica and didactics from both a theoretical and practical approach. In this occasion, we’ll count on the participation of a female panel as in the past edition we had a fully male team.

All the working sessions will be focused on pedagogical training and guidelines to empower the participants to develop their own teaching interests and new possibilities.

This training is for:

• Beginner teachers keen to learn about the pedagogy of teaching creative writing and the different international approaches
• Intermediate teachers wanting to broaden their grasp of pedagogical concepts in an international and culturally diverse environment
• More expert teachers interested in sharing their experiences and approaches and enriching their own perspectives from international discussions and comparisons
• Students of creative writing willing to deepen into their knowledge and skills within the contents of the different working proposals in an international context
